  • one of only 3 bombarde stops that brings tears to my eyes. Well executed!!!

  • Sophie Choplin <3 <3 <3! Inspiration to female organists worldwide!!! :)

  • Sophie Choplin!!!! AMAZING!!!!

  • What a charming women!

Of course the organ sound is never the real thing on records..but when you walk around in the church it sounds great! It is evident that although we can place the best microphones etc..it will never be as beautifull as the sound every pipe can make. You must have been there to give any comment in what kind. Great to find this movies here!

  • Starting at 6:31 I would love to be inside the organ to see all the amazing things the action is doing to translate the motion of the keys to the pallets in this enormous instrument. The demands on the mechanism are incredible, with so many valves needing to pop open so quickly. But then, this is an incredible organ...

  • @organboi It doesn't make the same click in my head - but as you say, it's often about memory. I think listening to videos of this kind of audio quality and this close to the pipe work, I try to think what this would have sounded like in person out in the nave.

  • @pianoman74 I don't know the piece you're talking about but I agree with you about this organ sounding like a synth at times. I think great organs often sound NOT like organs, but other instruments or even never before heard instruments.

  • Why is there a severed head sitting on the right side of the console?

  • @codeman2008 Actually, Mr. Codeman, I thought the very same thing that Mr Pianoman74 said. It DOES sound like a becrazed synth at times, but that's what's so fascinating. Organs often generate a lot of tonal memories in people's minds and ears. I don't think he's on crack at all.
