Having no school was so brilliant. Usually reserved for days of snow. I loved when it snowed, waiting by the radio listening to local news programmes, learning which schools were closed that day. I wish that still happened with work.

Rene from Allo Allo almost copped it. He survived! Go Rene!

Michael Buerk threatening to go all Day Today on a bedraggled Ian McCaskill is TV gold.

Average winds where hurricane force not storm force, they greatly underestimated how powerful this was even the next day after it happened. That 94mph gust at the weather centre was just 1 recorded gust then the barometre broke and couldn't take readings, other stations around London and southern england recorded gusts of 110-120mph with average/mean windspeeds of 80mph for a period of over 3 hours. So this would be the equivelant of a strong cat 2 boarderline category 3 hurricane in America.
