  • @klwewf Supper's Ready is one of the most creative pieces of music ever written. People who don't like it don't appreciate this kind of creativity in music, PERIOD.

  • Wow, Phil says wanted to bring the YES kind of musicianship into the band. He went to see YES at the Marquee every Wednesday.

  • they speak so softly

  • @jkovert To you he is. And that's fine. But to countless musicians he was the man. And inspired many to sit behind a kit.

  • Bruford is overrated.

  • @CapLockFreak On top of that, Phil and Bill were also auditioning together during that time for Brand X. Bill didn't quite make the cut, and Phil got the gig. About the ONLY time that Bruford would ever lose out to anyone. But he did sit in for a few of X's session recordings.

Thanks for uploading all these interviews, oquatanginwann.

  • jammed - yet again - beyond as joke this now

  • @DaddyDrummer007

This what I saw on a Yes website. Sometime in August or September 1968 Bruford quits Yes to study economics at Leeds University, shocking the band, who recruits Tony O'Riley, formerly of the Koobas. For about a week a drummer named Dave Potts also rehearsed with them.

  • @yesshows100 The vibe i got from Phil it was 68. I might be wrong but i think it was in 68. I think Bill was going to College and Yes needed a replacement. But Jon and Chris somehow talked Bill into comming back to the band.

  • @yesshows100 Phil almost ended up in Yes When He heard Bill was leaving. Phil even talked to Jon about being in the band and Jon told Phil come back. Phil for what ever reason. Never showed up.
