To be honest, I don't like Fantasy movies (I prefer Sci-Fi) but this movie blew me away - very interesting storyline, nice visual effects, great acting. James Purefoy was brilliant as Solomon. I like the idea that the main warrior/killer/hero was religious. Rachel Hurd-Wood was stunning as well. "Solomon Kane" is interesting, sometime even shocking and criminally underrated movie. I hope they will make a sequel

I saw the trailer for this quite a while ago. It is ever coming to theaters in America? Did I already miss it?

This film is crap ... It is a typical sword and sorcery story [add nausea] with almost nothing to do with the character. This review is idiotic. This movie is another bastardization of another Howard character. Anyone who wants to really understand the character should avoid this flop and read the stories.

As a big fan of R.E.H Conan stories, I certainly hope this is as cool as the trailers suggest. Now if only we could get another Conan movie by a competant director that is faithful to the source material, especially his origins.
It's not fair that Lovecraft, while arguably a terrible writer (and racist paranoid angloboo) has had so much time in the geek limelight. It's time for people to discover the great material that Howard produced.

That's what happened for Mr. Freeze. He wasn't given an origin and made as a gimmick villain, but then Bruce Timm's team for the animated series made this awesome tragic story.
