These commercials aired in late May of 1983. Thanks to Mike C for sending me the tape.

1. Jockey (With Jim Palmer)
2. Perdue Franks
3. Diet Coke (This had just been rolled out in August of '82, so it was still a very new product)
4. Zenith (Oooh! Space Phone!)
5. Brim (Cool design on the packaging. Very 70's)
6. Renault (The music here was later used in an ad for Disney World I posted in Vol. 3)
7. Channel Changing
8. Brim
9. Prestige Dining Club Card
10. Post Honey Nut Crunch Raisin Bran (Longest product name ever)
11. WVIT Station ID
12. Hampden East Condominiums (Someone should track down someone who lives here and show them this ad!)
13. Fotomat
14. Diet Coke (With Gary Grubbs)
15. RC 100 (I hate it whenever I'm caught in the middle of one of these song and dance routines at the grocery store. Just let me buy my damn groceries!)
16. White Cloud
17. Channel Changing
18. Datsun Turbo ZX
19. Prudential (He died LOL)
20. ABC Station ID
21. National Enquirer (Amazing)
22. Channel Changing
23. Shake 'n Bake (For goodness sake!)

  • 1:42 How was THAT not 1080p?!?!?! IM SO CONFUSED.

  • @NASCARFAN160 1080p refers to the screen resolution, not the size of the TV. High Definition existed in several different prototype formats at this point, but was decades away from becoming available to the average consumer.

  • Ah beautiful, advertising before the age of irony...

  • it's amazing seeing people in America making underwear. i'm sure all jockey products are made in China or Bangladesh today.

  • I really like the message of the Datsun Turbo ZX commercial. You won't, but you know you could lol.

  • Freddie Gourmet- FTW!

  • @DanZero77 True.

  • @the1truebakasama Yeah, some lady pulls off an epic feat, then only fills their cup halfway -- then random man says its BRIM so fill me up

  • @Jeff98177 The cassette player is awesome if you read that in the Datsun announcers voice.

  • @TEEFUS87 "Unknown Prudential Insurance Guy Found Dead at 40, was said to Have Prudential Policy".

  • Jimmy Durante's kid again! Will he ever learn?

Phone on your TV? LOL WUT

Ed Ladd from WNEW on the Castrol voiceover at 3:00!

Nice local branding with NBC's '82-'83 image campaign on the WVIT ID -- although WNBC in New York did roll off the tongue a bit easier.

There's something AWESOME about that Datsun/Nissan voice over announcer guy from ALL your volumes so far. He's everywhere, yet he can sell you a car REAL good.

National Enquirer music is creepy -- so was the corn rowed WHITE lady

  • @FSinWCR pretty sure he is the grandson of the predue guy.

  • did some one later find the guy dead in his office in the life insurance commercial
