This video is now kind of out of date. The car now has a custom built 383 stroker, 700r4 transmission, and Stainless Steel sidemount headers with 4" Stainless Steel side pipes and Sweet Thunder inserts. For a more current video of the car in action go here:

Also, check out my other videos of the car at different stages of the build and with different exhaust setups.

  • WOW! I love the sound of that car! I have an 82 Vette. Just put in a True Dual exhaust system and headers and now im deciding on what mufflers to get. What is the exact name and type of mufflers you have on the car in this video? I do know that they are Cherry Bombs, i just need to know what kind beause i see that the mufflers have dual outputs. They sound soo nice. Thanks!

  • @JSW199 Thanks man. The exact name is just Cherry Bomb Glasspacks. Each muffler is a single inlet, single outlet... one on each side. Then the exhaust tips are twin tips. It definitely sounded good. My only problem was the glasspacks tend to pop a lot on deceleration. I actually just finished a 383 stroker/700r4 build last winter, and during the process switched to custom headers and 4" Stainless Steel side pipes with Sweet Thunder muffler inserts! Now it really sounds good!

  • very beautiful car man, what kind of exhaust setup are you running?

  • @krupa35 Thanks, but this is a pretty old video. I actually have a built 383 stroker in the car now, and the exhaust is now side pipes.

The old exhaust set up in this video was stock ram horn manifolds, true duals, no cats, glasspack mufflers.

If you go to my video list there are some videos of the current motor and exhaust setup.

Stay tuned for some new videos, I just got new Sweet Thunder muffler inserts for the side pipes that should be VERY LOUD!

  • @rmryder88 thank you. ill be sure to check them out :D

  • So was it a true cali car or had somebody just swapped a 305 in there? Im sure the 396 is sweet in it now. Im planning on building the 383 to somewhere between 450-500 hp/tq. Nothing too crazy, I just want to make it a street beast.

  • cool. When i first got my Vette, it had a 305 in it. One year after getting it died.

  • Nice. Im planning out a 383 now that Im planning on building myself.

  • I have a 1980 Vette also, black on black, 396 V8 under the hood. I got the car when I was 14. Im 23 now. The 396 came out of a '71 Chevelle SS I was parting out.

  • haha thanks, but it wasnt always that way. I have pictures of it from when I first got it, up until now....it was a very big process, lot and lots of time and money to get where it is now, and theres still more to do
