what i see is that the lion was angry or jelous with the man for some reason, the lion didn't wanted to kill and eat the man, the lion just felt rebel or dominant. I'm happy this didn't become into a sad story (or bloody), but probably the trainer must to begin the training with that lion from 0 again. Maybe the lion have developed some sort of fixation with the trainer, who knows
