@TheWaksfly If I were you I would go with the 17-55 f/2.8 or the 16-35 f/2.8. As far as I know the 17-55mm is a lot less expensive but I am not familiar with it. The 16-35 is a fantastic lens.
I hope this helps.

Lens hoods protect the front element of the lens from (hopefully never!) drops onto the ground, rain, etc. They also help cut out lens flare from the sun by "shading" the image sensor and frontal glass of the lens from the sunlight, plus they make your lens look awesome.

Can You Buy Any Lens For Any Camera

@uwak1223 Make sure it is the same manufacturer first. But each manufacturer does make a lot of the same lenses. I believe canon and Nikon have the biggest selections.

Can you explain what makes a lens with a WIDE maximum aperture considered to be a "fast" lens? What is "fast" referring to exactly?
NoSoldat4u 1 year ago
@NoSoldat4u Fast refers to how quickly light gets into your camera using a given lens. The wider the "opening" or "aperture", the more light gets in during any allotted "time" or "shutter speed".
So if you have a aperture of F/5.6 shooting at 1/125 shutter speed compared to a aperture of f/2.8 shooting at 1/125 shutter speed, the 2.8 is letting 4 times the amount of light in the same 1/125 of a second.
This means the exposure would be the same if your f2.8 was shooting at 1/500 of a second
