Knightmare VR scene

This is a scene from Knightmare VR. It was a new version of the classic childrens programme Knightmare. In KMVR it is 100% computer generated. Production of a pilot started around 2002 and was shelved in 2005. Its not hard to work out why. Without the Helmet Of Justice and having a real person on the set, its lost a lot of its appeal. Shame, I loved watching Knightmare as a kid!

Knightmare was crap after Series 3.The Eye shield and the awful digitized castle/forest locations completely ruined it.It was at its best with the drawn rooms by David Rowe in the first 3 series.

this makes me rage, knightmare was good int he 80s and 90s because it was totally immersive! but also because there was little in the way of video games..it allowed for imagination.

why is this VR version like a bad trip?

this just totally sucks. it doesnt inspire the imagination its just awful

The problem is that they took out a lot of the elements from the original Knightmare. The helmet of Justice, the awesome artwork from backgrounds a.k.a the blue rooms, the interaction with your helpers to lead you path and so on and so forth. If they plan to do a reboot of some kind then they have to bring those elements that made the show great. Besides, it was good and entertaining to watch back then and it still is today watching seasons on youtube.

I loved this show, but there was a serious problem. The whole appeal of the initial show was to offer graphical expereinces consoles or computers could not do at the time.

These days we are so used to CGI it's not the same. If thye remake this show they need to use real life over virtual scenes like the original.

I just downloaded all the old episodes on a torrent, somethign I gonan keep and treasure. This show was legendary and so inspiring for me as a kid.
