@judorican973 Which is the exact same reason Allen Coage, later known as Pro Wrestler Bad News Brown, left the Judo ranks after winning bronze in the Olympics. He even said in an interview that if he could have found a way to live comfortably off of Judo, he would never have started wrestling.

@judorican973 being the great athlete she is shouldn't the us government pay her to teach or to train for the olympics?
-
@:07, where you going, bitch?!?!
-
SHE LEFT BECAUSE JUDO DOESN'T PAY BILLS!!!
-
@joedomaster thats bullshit, she had a lot more to win,a bronze olypmpic medal isnt exactly the greatest of all time. She left becaus ethere was no mone and shell no doubt be an elite mma fighter within a year fom nowwomens mma doesnt have a deep talent pool.

@joedomaster I’m not too sure if that’s the reason for her leaving judo for MMA. As successful as she has been, there’s always something more to win out there (i.e. Olympic gold or silver). I’ve read on some judo forums that she made the switch because there’s no money in judo. In MMA at least she would be getting paid to compete, obviously not Gina Carano or Cyborg Santos money, but something is better than nothing.

Also, Kayla was only 16 when this match occurred in Dallas. But, I still LOVE Ronda.
-
I LOVE Ronda... but if anyone's interested... Kayla, just a week and a half ago, was the FIRST American woman in 25+ years to take a Gold medal in the World Championships held in Tokyo this year. That being said, I'd still rather see Ronda fighting on tatami in London.

@wjb4341 ronda is in MMA now, rumor has it she got tired of winning at Judo
The us government does not invest in it's athletes. It would rather spend that money on wars and corporate bailouts. Most other countries do invest in Olympians and this is why they get the gold medals. Especially in judo

@MPA2000 lad, shes not an mma fighter so obviously she doesnt fight as in no holds barred. However, wrestling and judo at elite international level are fights in terms of intensity, aggression and the determination needed to win despite not using strikes.
