Super Mario Kart - Ghost Valley 1 - Record Run (1:07.03)

Video of me burning a 1:07.03 on Super Mario Kart - Ghost Valley 1.

Notice: I do this WITHOUT the walkway jump/shortcut - which most other "record holders" do...I have yet to see video of a time faster than this without using the jump

My fastest lap is 0:13.32 (not this run - also a Twin Galaxies record - http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=22&sid=104238 ) and my fastest ever run is 1:06.99 (no video, unfortunately).

I am in the process of submitting these scores to Twin Galaxies to have them verified and posted.

I am racing against my own ghost on this video (ghost runs a 1:07.13)

And, in case anyone is wondering, the song is "Genesis" by Justice.

There are some corners which are super committed, and some which aren't, and in a game like this, that's the difference of maybe a tenth or two of a second.

But some corners were perfect......literally, perfect.

I agree that I could have had a faster run...in fact, my all time best (which I mention at the end of the video) is 1:06.99.

I look forward to seeing the video. I'm assuming it is the NTSC version of the game and not the PAL.

I average under a minute on this course, I think my best time was around 55 seconds. You should practice a little more

OMG thaT WAS REALLY COOL! i wondering if you past mine record vid on this in my Channel. but im gonna give you a tip. I think that many people do this?? well you can download an Emulator and if you have a Controller you can drive on the pc and record with the emulator! one of my friends said that it was a really good way to record old games! try it ;D

I'm PAL, but have just gotten back into the game after 10 years, running at average 13.6.

You're really good, and i will use this vid as a tutorial. (jumping yellow bars etc)
