What is 'Politics'?

One of my lecturers quoted this story from an article we were dicussing in the seminar. I found this story really interesting and thats why I am sharing it with you guys. Well in my opinion this is the most appropriate approach of defining the modern contemporary politics.

This is video doesn't explain politics at all. It really simply discusses what politics heavily uses. That's demogogy. The poor against the rich, that's how politicians gain support, & get elected. If only the person who made the video actually could comprehend what politics is. Politics is manipulation of the masses. This video is typical politics as usual, that rich people harm the poor, and the working class are purely victimcs. How naive, and ignorant.

I know many definitions of the term 'politics', but unfortunately, in practice, this is exactly what politics refers to! The ideal definitions/explanations are of course beautiful and appealing yet we can't find a single country in this world abiding by the very intrinsic values/norms/subjects/ideas that constitute 'politics'. True: "How naive, and ignorant".
