  • So to you we should make EVERYONE have not enough care to be rid of treatable illnesses just so ppl on the margins get a bit more? You forget it's THEIR money. They can spend it how they please. It's not for you to decide, or Obama, or Pelosi. In America we still have the freedom to have property and create wealth for ourselves. Why can't we create voluntary trust funds to help facilitate care for those who are in need? To me that would do better.

  • There is a difference between dieing from inadequate care than dieing from no care at all. The sum of money needed to pay for treatment of things like cancer, when presented to a single family for a single person, can be in such high amounts that the idea of dieing may be a more favorable option to the patient, given the burden they leave their family. The fear of a slightly lower quality of life is robbing people of their empathy

  • The laws of economics are as real as the laws of physics. You can't cheat them. Why should someone be compelled to pay for someone else's lunch, or healthcare? The truth is America has a safety net system. Is is perfect? no. Do people die in America because of supply and demand constraints on healthcare? yes. But no more tragically than any other western healthcare system in the world. EVERYONE dies in the end. The trick is to live a life your family would be proud of.

  • Gulfporter: if you believe the government can do anything more efficiently or for less money than by ppl who get up, go to work and attract willing buyers for services rendered, then I have some Greek Treasure bonds I'd like to sell you.

  • @IExposeMormonism The "it will cost one trillion" is part of the Republican and corporation's lie. They are speaking of the cost, as if the public will pay nothing, when in fact we are already spending more than that and will continue to pay for healthcare. The GOP lie is the the liberals think healthcare can be "free" when in fact, we're saying it can be had for less than we are now paying collectively.

  • Damn right. Put yourself in the other persons position, those who cant pay. I could never understand how america's health system could be so screwed up

  • None of this is going to stop. There isn't $1 trillion much less a trillion for medical care. And Obama is no different than King George or Clintonoid. And we are going to loose all our property rights next. We already lost Habeas Corpus and Posse Commitatus. 2 things even Joseph Smith had a right to. We have less rights than 13th C. Europeans before the Magna Carta. But who remembers....

  • Good work, Nate. Interesting interviews.

  • Great video.

I like that its showing just ordinary, real, everyday people who are upset over the financial mismanagement of our tax dollars by the federal government.

  • Government issued health care has not helped the French or Canadians in the examples I pointed out. It's triage care at best and immoral. I resent the idea of my health care decisions being taken away and appointments being treated like a court summons. Not to mention in the US we'd soon have affirmative action care, bringing down life expectancy for some in order to match others to be "fair." I trust government to be self serving not benevolent.
