A friend of mine who has secondary experience has recently been appointed as Head Teacher of a School in Weatherfield. I believe he was the only candidate for the post when he was appointed which may have something to do with the catchment area. He has an overbearing Chair of Governors and is faced with the prospect of a visit from Ofsted in the very near future. He was told by the Chairman that the Governors were after his blood, as they had failed to answer any of Ofsted's findings since the previous inspection, some years' past. Brian is faced with an unsupportive Governing Body who are looking to him to solve all their problems and present a plan at the next Governing Body Meeting. Any ideas?
Your friend's only hope - a slim one - is that our Education Secretary and the equally vile head of Ofsted are found locked in a passionate embrace in a broom cupboard, and get the sack simultaneously.
Osted and the DfE go into freefall, and schools are spared further, disgraceful witch hunts by the gutless thugs inspectors have become.
Even then I wouldn't bank on a reprieve, another pair of morons would soon be appointed to keep up the soul destroying pressure on schools and pupils.
