@osityan In the US, this is the kind of tape measures they use. I've never had the pleasure of owning a metric tape measure. Joe :0

Good video. Well thought out and well explained.
Where I work...err, used to work...we have tape measures that have 1/32" increments for the first 12". Beyond that, we also had to learn to read 64ths and even to "split the line" on the tape. We learned to read a tape accurately down to .020 of an inch! So yes, reading a tape measure can become quite intricate.

@rickbell7 Yes, lots of tape measures start off with the first 12 ", in 1/32" increments. I don't know too many people who want to get things that close so I didn't discuss this. Not sure why tape measures do this as most of the time, you would read a tape measure further than the first 12", so if you wanted to read out in 32nds, you can't. 1/16th inches is close enough for most projects.
