Part 2: Denial

Day before Graduation
Selena: (smiling) Can you believe? We're finally leaving this place!
David: (chuckles at her hyper ness) Chill Selena, we're still going to have to come here tomorrow again.
Selena: (slaps him lightly) I know, but finally after 4 long years we're leaving!
David: (puts a hand on her shoulder) Slow your horses down.
Selena: (about to reply but sees Demi's bus pull up in the parking lot) Bye David (rushes over to Demi) Demi!
Demi: (turns around)
Selena: Where were you last night? Since you didn't answer your cell, I called your house but your mom said you were out.
Demi: Right, I was at the beach...
Selena: (tilts her head a bit) Beach?
Demi: You know, Angie's beach party, I was going to ask you to come with me but I was thinking since your brother is in town, I thought you wanted to spend time with him
Selena: Right. So my parents are hosting this graduation party after graduation tomorrow, and they want you to come with your boyfriend.
Demi: (wanting to scream no but she cant do that to Selena) I'll ask my parents after school.
Selena: (smiles) Great! So want to head to the park later?
Demi: (opens her locker) I-I don't think I can.
Selena: Why not? (frowns)
Demi: Because (trying to think)
Joe: (runs in) Sel!
Demi: (anger starts to build up)
Selena: (turns around) What are you doing here?
Joe: (sees Demi) Y-you forgot your health notebook in my car.
Selena: (takes it from him; confused) Thanks?
Joe: No prob, I'll pick you up later. (heads out)
Selena: (looks at Demi) I'll catch up with you later?
Demi: (nods and goes to her class)
Selena: (catches up with Joe) What's the real reason you came here?
Joe: (unlocks his car) What do you mean?
Selena: (steps in front of him crossing her arms) You know I don't have health today and you also know that I never brought my health notebook with me so you couldn't be in your car. (stares at him)
Joe: Whatever Sel. Have fun at school (drives away)
Selena: (mumbles) You so love her still.

After school
Demi: (walking home)
Joe: (pulls up by her) Hey, have you seen Sel?
Demi: (keeps walking) Detention.
Joe: You can't give me detention.
Demi: (rolls her eyes) She has detention... (mumbles) Stupid.
Taylor: (catches up with her) Hey Dem, so have you thought about it? (puts his arm around her shoulder)
Demi: (sighs) Why not. I have nothing else better to do.
Taylor: (chuckles and fist pumps the air) Can't wait (winks at her and crosses the street)

Around 8pm
Demi: (laughing as she watches Taylor going down the kids slide)
Taylor: (looks at her and smiles) Want to try? It's pretty fun. (holds out his hand for her)
Demi: (giggles and takes his hand) Thank you.
Taylor: (smiles down at her) For what?
Demi: (smiles and shrugs) For this night. It was quite better than I expected.
Taylor: (winks) I'm full of suprises.
Demi: (laughs and pushes him back a bit; phone rings) I'm sorry.
Taylor: It's fine.
Demi: (turns around and answers) Hello?
Joe: Hey.
Demi: Who is this?
Joe: Umm.. Joe?
Demi: Oh, what can I help you with?
Joe: I just wanted to you know, talk.
Demi: Well I cant and actually don't want to so bye. (hangs; turns around and smiles at Taylor)

After GRADUATION;
Selena & Demi: (smiling as their parents take pictures)
Taylor: (comes up behind and joins in one picture) Hey
Demi: (looks up and kisses him)
Selena: (makes a barfing face) Ewww.
Demi: (pulls away and glares) Oh shut up.
Their parents walk away.
Selena: (smiles) You and I both know that's never going to happen.
Demi: (about to make a comeback but sees someone coming up behind Selena) Hey I'm going to meet Taylor's parents okay? (grabs Taylor's hand and walks away)
???: (reaches Selena) What was that about?
Selena: (gets startled and sees her brother) What did you do? (crosses her arms)
Joe: What do you mean?
Selena: You did something to Demi and that's why she's mad at you!
Joe: Nothing!
Selena: (raises her eyebrow) Really? Because she wasn't mad when I mentioned you were visiting and now she sees you again for the second time and she's pissed.
Joe: (smirks) Maybe she still likes me.
Selena: (scoffs) Oh trust me, she's over you. Her and Taylor are completely in love. (walks away towards her other friends)
Joe: (sees Demi and Taylor laughing and frowns)

He knew Selena was right about them being in love. And that's what made him mad. Not that fact that Selena was right, the fact that Demi moved on, which surprised him because even though he was getting married soon, he hated the fact that he, himself knew he wasn't over Demi.
