I'm new a new driver for a couple of months, and blind spots still bother me a lot. When I checked blind spot by looking over my shoulder to change lane, It made me surprised and nervous when a car was actually there.This tutorial is really what I need right now.

This method really does work. Everyone I've told says it is really helpful.
This guy knows what he is talking about. Why do people want to look at the side of their car? It's traffic you're interested in folks. A further note; You do not need to see any birds, tree tops, planes or sky in your mirror. Remember, it's traffic you're interested in.....
