Jordan Gravatt interviewed Chris Spealler at the Rogue vs. Again Faster Tahoe Throwdown about his athletic history, being a CrossFit celebrity, and how he felt about competing in a team event.

Chris started wrestling when he was six years old, and continued through college, where he wrestled for Lock Haven University, a Division 1 program. He had the opportunity to continue wrestling after that, but he declined. Four years later, Chris found CrossFit. Wrestling's time domain prepared him well for the sport of fitness.

"Speal" is a legendary name in the CrossFit community, but Chris hasn't let that get to his head. He still considers himself to be a "big fish in a small pond." He's thankful for the support of CrossFit HQ and Rogue Fitness in helping him pursue his athletic dream.

Chris enjoyed the teamwork and strategy of the throwdown, but he still missed the challenge of individual competition. When he competes, he loves being the "underdog," and going up against much larger competitors.
