A couple of Desert Rats from El Paso, TX - Mike/KD9KC and Ron/WT5RZ visited Colorado Springs during North American Summits on the Air weekend event. They decide to activate Pikes Peak seeing the weather was surprisingly still in Indian Summer mode on Oct 22! Mike with his AlexLoop/Walkham antenna and Ron with his Buddipole vertical make lots of interesting contacts worldwide (T32C) in spite of the wind and cold. Fun day on the summit for SOTA and ham radio!
amazing, Steve! you guys are a true inspiration to us who are just starting out. its nice to know i don't have to be shack bound or knee deep in watts to enjoy the radiosport. great vid, keep 'em coming. ~Colt / K5RTO

I've been watching these videos for a couple of years now and I really like this one since my QSL card made a cameo appearance in it. I recognized several of those calls mentioned as I made contact with them also. What fun. Can't wait to activate another summit. 73 NZ7B

Hello!
Thank for this video. Yes, qrp is easy. I work often JA or N.A from lower summits with qrp.
