Cannot Live Without Hearing Aids...

I didn't realize how much I missed the ability to hear varies of noise include music. Last Friday I realized that I haven't turned the stereo on for awhile and that leads me to varies noises that I miss to hear. I used to love to lip syncing along the music after I learn the lyrics... I used to be able to speak in full sentence after practice but without hearing aid my talk have gotten worse, I cannot hear music, I cannot hear ANYTHING even my babies excitement squeal when I get home. Without hearing aid there's no happiness.

Have fun w your new hearing aids when you get yours. I got mine since last Feb or so, It's so awesome to hear again after not wear hearing aids for like, nine years because of I broken my old hearing aids under a couch when I took a nap, ha. Mine is Oticon Sumo DM.

Hi :) I stopped wearing hearing aids when I was 15 (I wasn't supposed to - one of the rules at school stated that I must wear hearing aids until I left school!) I hated wearing them cos they gave me headaches. Now would I want to wear hearing aids again? Most of the time, no, but occissioanlly, I find myself thinking that it would be awesome to have hearing aids again just to hear what's around me but to wear them full-time? no thanks. I hope you find a way to get your hearing aids. :D

@CazASL22 Awwww It sucks that some deaf ppl get headache from hearing aids. I don't :( Maybe it was too loud for you??

Hi Yoda~ I feel the same thing... I grew up with hearing aid and cannot live without it.... In past few months my hearing aid broken!!! I cannot afford for repair or buy new one.. I felt funny without hearing aid and felt lost in some way.... I really miss hearing aid... Hopefully someday soon I ll get my hearing aid back in somehow...

@DeafSunflowerGirl Yeah it's never that easy to lose hearing aids... it's VERY hard and I can not get used to not be able to hear single sound... Today I'm going to DR at 230.. hope you get urs as soon as possible.

I have been wore hearing aid before and so I decide to stop to use hearing aid when I was in 6th grade, and Right now I'm Senior and I dont need it, so...I was born hearing and suddenly got ear infection in left ear when i was four month olds, it's pretty sad, but I dont care....lol....I have only can hear 40% hearing in left ear and fully deaf in right ear...so I'm happy that i can hear a little...so.....I'm proud myself for being deaf or hard of hearing! :-)

Likewise, I can't live w/out hearing aids. I need to get another hearing aid for right ear. I demand to wear hearing aids all the time! When I wake up..I m getting hearing aid on. When I go bed..I take it off, always. My hearing aid brand name is Siemens, look like semen lol.

when i am home or just going for walk, i dont wear my hearing aid cuz i like the quiet and peace. i used to love listen to music as kid but now no more cuz all it does is give me a headache... so i wear hearing aid just sometimes if i am around hearing ppl. also for my speaking, when i am out in public i will talk for like order menu if i am wearing hearing aid, but if no hearing aid then i do note writing. that all and thks for sharing ur story...

I have used hearing aids since i was one year old and also learned to sign same time. but i did not like wearing hearing aids very much cuz it not comfortable feeling and it always squeals or whistles, it annoying partly cuz i have very soft ears. i only wear hearing aid on right ear as my left ear is profoundly fully deaf. today i only wear my hearing aid when i am going to a family gathering or out to public. when i am at home or just going for a walk.
