@TheLittleE2000 but i am not saying we have it spot on either..we always can improve.. but i can transfer, and have, from one bank to another with no charges...
@TheLittleE2000 every branch a separate bank? No..I bank with RBC, any RBC, is an RBC bank...if you bank with CIBC, Scotia, TD, MBanx, etc..they are all interrelated....not sure where your info came form, but its not correct.
Our economy didn't implode because a) we don't subscribe to unregulated economics b) we have a mind-boggling amount of natural resources that every developed country needs.
Canadian regulation is better,,,but banking. At the retail level they kinda suck. Banking in the UK (where I now live) is far better. The problem in Canada is that each branch is a separate "bank". I remember when inter-branch banking came in - it was a revolution!!! But it still hasn't moved beyond that to a unified network where I can transfer money between branches at $0 (like I can here in the UK). They are more transparent about their charges at least.
The major difference between Canada and the United States is that the power of America is in a few large corporations, banking, military, pharmaceuticals and oil/gas. In Canada the power has in the past and will always be in the government. Our national objective is much different than the U.S; we aim for Peace, Order and good Government, we cannot have order and peace if the economy collapses, we have to have a good economy to have a good government. The pursuit of happiness is over.
