This is a quick pencil test I did in flash. My character is a reluctant super hero. He's impossibly super strong, but that doesn't mean that an animator should look away from some basic principles. The better you can show balance, anticipation, momentum, weight and locomotion... the more believable your impossible physics will appear. Most viewers will want to believe in your characters. However, if your characters don't at least nod or wink at basic laws in the real world, viewers wont try to identify with your characters. Disney called this the "plausible Impossible". I'll be tightening this up over the next few days.
