Try and Love Again (Eagles cover): Dana Hayes, Steve Brownlee and Friends

A hidden webcam / condenser mic recording in August 2009 at a rehearsal for my alma mater's 30 Year Reunion and pre-reunion concert the night before (audio and video are a few seconds out of synch, sorry). Although I am not a professional musician myself, I dabble. That and I've worked in the music industry for near 30 years. All the other players here are pros, all with album credits and who are either friends from HS or from bands I've worked with over the years. We're all old 80s hard rockers, but I requested to play a couple of country songs for a few special friends that would be at the show (thngs I do for women lol) Mind you, none of us had played this song together until this moment and Joshua Perahia on lead guitar never heard this song before and after one listen through improvised the lead on this! Friggin beautiful!!!! You'll see some coaching during the song and by half way through us rockers finally go from a rock groove to a full on country sound. On vocals Dana Hayes and Jerry Gabriel, me on rhythm guitar, Johnny Cook on drums, Chuck Turner on keyboards. Dana's voice is amazing!

It features memebrs of the L.A. based bands Lone Justice, Joshua, Silent Rage, Hollywood Hot Rod and some solo artists. This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I think you guys did a HELL of a job covering it. This song is sooo personal to me because it brings back memories of a girl I used to (and still am) be madly in love with. She meant the world to me, and now she is gone. :'-(

Thank you for posting it. Even though the memories are painful, it is such a beautiful song and you guys just made it that much better.

Thanks for you're nice comment EvilElvis. To be honest, we got better at the song. This was done for a benefit show. All of us had learned the parts apart from each other and this was the very first time we alkl actually played it togetehr. My buddy Joshua on lead guitar didn't even know the song and was asked last minute to play lead on it. He's making up his parts as he goes along here! He's an amazing talent!
