There was a torrential rain outside so the audience may have been small but they were very diverse (age wise and well as politically).The Q and A as informative as her presentation.

There was one glitch in the evening, the university failed to supply any amplification (even though it had been requested) but everyone managed to make sure they were heard. Nonie Darwish is an impressively brave women. And her message about the dangers of Sharia was clear and honest. Unfortunately, those of the student body who came with their minds closed to Nonie's presentation, seemed to leave with their minds unchanged.
Still, kudos to the students at Temple U (particularly Alvaro Watson) for daring to bring Nonie and the Truth about Sharia to the campus. In that sense, mission accomplished.

@lyntonio Leftist gay people defending islamic sharia law is just... wow. So much dangerous ignorance and suicidal stupidity. Fundamentalist muslims are really the only people in the world right now that sytematically oppress and persecute gay people. Lack of gay marriage looks like a joke in comparison to what gays have to go through in muslim occupied countries - or even in muslim dominated enclaves in the West... @ehsanS7 Nonie Darwish is still correct. It was one culture, India. PAKSTAN was Punjab, Afganistan, Kashmir, Sind, Baluchistan. Muslims moved to Pakistan as all Hindus moved to India. Your country is what exactly wrong with Sharia and even the "vicious cycle" of power struggle and series of coup de etat as your last former president musharraf did.

Miss Nonia Darwish is not 100% correct about the claims she made. I Am a muslim and I think she is not even competent enough to talk about Islam and Sharia law.

ANYONE who believe in her should check the accuracy of all the claims she made. I am from Pakistan and the way she described the independence is not correct. Division of that land happened under British rule and not Hindu rule.. For this this no need to read Islamic books just read the correct version on Wikipedia.

I like what she said about it being toxic to an individual to live in a country that the do not like. If you do not like the US then leave.
