@kevino025 I can't answer for Square Enix, but rendering times of 20-60 minutes per frame is not uncommon. Some shots are even split into elements, characters/particles/foregroun
d/background, so you only render the things that are updated with new animation for example. Pixar RenderMan lets you do rendering on a cloud service for a fee, so you could get by with an ordinary desktop if you are willing to let the cloud do the heavy lifting. -
Even though pixar style renderings are not considered photorealistic, making use of HDR environments could enhance the look of it and help with integration with the plate. Having the shadows match the plate more closely in direction and softness, would also help. I have no idea of how much time you very given for the project, but rendering at 2 min/frame makes me think you had a tight schedule!

@Animationstudies im pretty sure it's maya. I use it in college right now for 3D animation and rendering.

you shuld change the specularity of the car...the intencity is way to low it should be maxed out..great job
A great free software alternative would be Blender 3D.
