Conrad vs. Dempsey

Jimmy Conrad of the Kansas City Wizards had his jaw broken by a reckless challenge from Clint Dempsey of the New England Revolution.

This game, held on Saturday, September 23rd was Conrad's first game back. Earlier in the week on the DA Show on 610 Sports http://www.610sports.com in Kansas City, Conrad intimated that he would seek to put a good, clean hit on Dempsey. You can here the interview here.

Put into the game with just minutes remaining to help Kansas City preserve a needed tie, Conrad stepped up hard into a tackle and cleared the ball. From Dempsey's reaction after the tackle and the extracurriculars after the game, it was obvious he felt he was being targeted.

I'm pretty sure Taylor Twellman's giving someone the bird in that postgame shot as well.

the quality of football in the mls is the same as in league 2 in England. The only decent players there are donovan and beckham and they wouldnt even be that good in the prem

So you've personally seen all the players in MLS and made this judgement? Villareal snatches up Altidore, Rangers goes after Edu but there's no one else? Come on now. Give these players EU passports and there would be lots of teams picking up our players. Hell Everton just came and picked up a player out of the US 4th tier. The main difference? He can qualify for a work permit with an EU passport.

Altidore is a bench warmer at relegation strugglers hull. I think MLS has come along way in recent years and all credit to the league but it has a long way to go to reach European standards.

He's not world class, but I think it's a little early to think his current situation is his career peak. He's on loan and hasn't even had time to adjust to the league and has already helped Hull secure some points off the bench.
