Acute Dystonic Reaction

A patient treated with risperidone presents to the emergency department with an acute dystonic reaction. The acute management of the extrapyramidal effect of his medication with benadryl is demonstrated in this video.

How come you don't put on the music that you played anymore?

@peachy6969 Hah, I put on my own music simply because the video making programs I was using didn't have background music to select from. My newer programs do. Didn't think that anyone even noticed. :-)

Do you have the patients sign a consent or something?

@theedexitvideo Thanks and you are welcome. Yes, every patient signs a consent and are told that their video will be placed on YouTube with the possibility that anyone in the world can see them. Every patient understands that these videos are used for teaching about medical conditions and procedures.

i have seen this before with a kid 14 years who was on methoclopromide for vomiting came in with such dystonic/extrapyramidal effects... gave him 25mg of Promethazine IM worked like a charm he slept for a while and woke up all normal Lol , nice case
