Indeed...this device, if open-sourced, would probably collapse the economy and put an end to pretty much any kind of malediction which current afflicts our world today. This is what sponsoring a Resource Based Economy is all about - provision for all needs met. After that, the only thing that would be left for mankind...on earth, that is, is to embrace the stars. It's already available - why fear the future?

3d printing will revolutionize customization, design, and allow for the printing of needed goods on demand without the absurdity of planned obsolescence.
