  • I truly loved Coach Devaney. Great man, with a set of balls on him a mile wide. No one, including Coach Osborne, did more for putting Nebraska back in the throes of success then Bob Devaney did. Out of both respect that I do have and class that I wish I had, I would never compare the two coaching legends in a competitive, 'who was more important' kind of a way. But I must tell you that the ORIGINAL catalyst for changing Cornhusker football into a formidable juggernaut was Coach Devaney.

  • Johnny Rogers was awesome.

  • Good point, Jack.

As I am getting old, I well remember the great '71 team but largely forgot about the '95 team that steamrolled everyone else. I can easily recall the entire game between Neb & OU in '71 but can hardly recall the Neb win over Fla in the Fiesta Bowl.

On reflection, a good case can be made for why the '95 team was more dominant.

Kudos to Neb for their many great teams over the years.

  • huskers rock

but i think they were better in 1995
