Back in the day, I used to hate Nirvana weith a passion. Then, one the way to Virginia

for my brothers funeral, this song came on. "I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black..." That lyric hit me like a ton of bricks, as my brother had died of cancer. Since then, I have listened to Nirvana with different ears, and now have a deep respect for their music.

Kurt Cobain used "paper flower" poppies in Heart Shaped Box music vid, which is Joe Elliott of Def Leppard's birth flower. This is where the pseudonym Poppy Z-Brite who wrote Courtney Love's bio came from. The paper flowers were from the song "Imaginary" which I wrote and performed by Evanescence. When I met Kurt in May '83 he was on roadcrew for Def Leppard's Rock Till You Drop Tour promoting Pyromania. Def Lep had been opening for Billy Squier which ended in Seattle & Oregon in April '83
