Michael Ka'ainoni's 5th year thesis project for Janeck Dombrowa (Spring 2006). The video illustrates a solution to urban sprawl: an 875' vertical city that can house up to 120,000 occupants in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.
A very intersting design. This type of building would cost a fortune. It would also take up quite a bit of parking space to house 80,000 - 120, 000 people. Having it build on top of one of Los Angeles freeways would create alot of noise. Also having that many people living within that small piece of land would require a rapid transit line into the city.
