@BenediktBast For sure. Because shih tzus have pinched faces they're prone to this sort of thing. Chihuahuas are also very prone to reverse sneezing. It's nbd. Cute puppeh!
My Shih Tzu/Poodle mix does this too, and the vet said it's called reverse sneezing. It's not fatal, and if you put your fingers on her nostrils, it helps to stop it.
My Shorkie (Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier) has asthma too, she always sticks her her head straight out and never moves her neck when she's trying to breath.
The way to help them get over it is to try to calm them down by talking to them and petting them, I rub her face, her throat, and her chest and it helps her stop. Also, make sure they drink some water.

All you have to do is pick him up and blow into his nose and he will stop. Happens all the time with my Shih tsu.

I guess I should take my shih tzu running more often... I always thought my dog had a rare case but apparently dog asthma happens often.

My shih-tzu is doing the same thing, is this fatal? I'm taking him to the vet in two days, it's a horrible sound and I don't know what to do for him.

It's a reverse sneeze. Pretty common in the shih tzu.
