@thomasorchard no u can go to a community college, show no income and get financial aid then transfer to a state university and apply for scholarship if you get good grades at the community college..also work part time time bartending or being a waiter or something that gives fast cash..

some cultures persuade their people to be bigger losers than other cultures. For instance, in the Latino culture you are expected to get married young (18-22), have as many kids as possible, dont value education and search to work a minimum paying job. Asians on the other hand preach education to their kids and reproduce at very small numbers (2 kids at the most).

He was so poor, couldn't even finish school or pay half his bills at first and look where he is now! He's a hard worker, a fighter, and made so many sacrifices to get to where he is...

I like how Tom ignores the fact that in the 70's/80's a college diploma was actually worth something. A college diploma isn't worth shit now. It is, but hardly compared to back then...Tom was just plain LUCKY that he was born in his era.
