they were smacking the horse lightly to encourage him to get up. a natural behavior of horses is to bite and nibble necks and flanks of each other. it stimulates them. they were trying to stimulate the horse to get up. the pressure he used to smack the horse was no more than if you tapped your arm lightly. they were trying to save him after his stupid ass owners screwed him all up.

What happened to the owners, were they at least struck of as practising vets? A doctor would be struck off if he did this to a human . I don't know if vets are licensed ?

Thanks for letting me know. It's sick the way some people treat horses. Why didn't those ding bats just call a tow truck instead? I agree with you. Don't worry the owners Karma will get them.

In response to you're question..the owners had gotten their car stuck in a ditch and thought it would be a great idea to get their starved horse to try to haul it out for them. Obviously this failed, which it would regardless of whether or not the horse was malnourished, and they left the poor thing there. It got repored in and that's when they started to lift the horse out. Unbelievable the owners were BOTH vets..They should be put through the same thing as those horses and see how they like it

okay danni0112..i live in langley. this is canada you fool..not the states. And do you know anything about trying to get an injured or malnurished horse up when they are weak and can barely move? I highly doubt it. He did not hit the horse hard, what he did was to make the horse more motivated to stand up. Yes..SouthernCamo is right; their organs get crushed if they lie down in certain areas for too long and they WERE trying to save that horse.
Still, amazing they let them get away with it..

It may be weak but a horse can't stay down for extended periods of time. The weight of the horses organs press down and crush eachother if it is left to do so. They are trying to get it to stand probably in an attempt to try and save it.
