I'm Back! Alive and Well With Good News

Sorry about the long hiatus. I've been busy the past few months moving into a new house... selling an old house... starting a new job... a lot of overtime=$$$. That money wil go towards a NEW LAYOUT!!!

I'm in the process of building a train room in my "OWN" basement. That's a lot closer than driving 2hrs to my Dad's house to work on our layout "PRR: Schuylkill Division" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-F5vDW3EgE
It will be a 14ftx15ft room with a 3ftx20ft alcove attached to it. It's going to be HO scale with the possibility of a narrow gauge HOn3 branchline that goes up into the mountains. A logging and coalmine based Appalachian mountains theme. I plan on adding many craftsman style structures, lots of backwoods scenery, tons of wooden trestles, a shipyard scene, small towns, a small engine service area...etc.

@GardeBlaze Yes, it still is at my Dad's house. I will go down occasionally and help out, but now I can just walk into my basement and work on my own, too.

You have plenty of space for the applachian mountains. This is going to look awesome!!! My son loves watching all the videos posted. Wish we had the space. We take him to the Shore Mall quite often to look at the trains there!! Keep us all updated!

Good Luck with your new layout. I just posted a video of my train room. I need to punch thru a block wall to get to my Helix area. I have a 3.5'x 10' block room kind of like wj\hat you have. I will be modeling On30.
