Honestly, you just come off as a film snob trying to sound more cultured by name dropping a completely random movie like Pianist to sound more cultured. You're the one embarassing (one r) yourself. If you can't appreciate a movie that examines a unique lifestyle, then you probably like movies for the wrong reason. To each his own, but don't go around trying ot be an elitist about things. Like comparing a Polanski flick to this one. It makes you look silly and pretentious.
