  • Heating a silicone rubber mold to 140 to 160 F for 2 to 3 hours should not damage it. For casting urethane clears it is best to begin with a platinum cured silicone type rubber mold where there is no need to dry the mold with heat. Heating a mold helps drive off moisture which causes surface bubbles.

  • You could put the entire mold filled with casting resin in the vacumm chamber for a while, but you should not let it cure under vacumm. Vacumm makes bubbles larger,

so let off the vacumm after a few minutes before the resin begins curing.

  • Could i make up a cup of the clear resin, then brush it ontop of something else to protect the paint job? like another piece of urethane?

  • Took your advice about putting my tin cured molds into the oven and just ruined about 200+ dollars worth of molds. They softened, bubbled, feel like you could put your finger through them, and are completely discolored now. Totally distraught..

  • Where can iget this product?

  • 1st class video. THANKS!

  • Would it be worthwhile to put the poured mould into a vacuum chamber to remove all of the bubbles?

  • Great video!

How was the largest piece (hollow skull?) made in the beginning of the video? Slush cast?
