we keep giving the oil companies our money because the alternatives dont match it. we started out with solar (i.e. plants) & wind , and chose oil because while it lasts it allowed us to cheat on carrying capacity

the lack of scientific consensus, as many of our politicians like to cite is because 97% percent of top climate scientists agree that it is currently a human caused phenomenon. the lack of consensus is that 3%, and as for depending on presidents to save us from ourselves that is really dumb. ofcourse some will be inclined to "help" but they can't do things on their own, its a democracy (hence do things yourself to help the cause" instead of just complaining the whole time... good luck to us all!

The natural gas-oil-coal industries have impoverished BILLIONS of people by taking away jobs that otherwise would have gone to solar and wind power companies.

Conservatives and libertarians whine about hypothetical laws that aren't even in place yet - such as tough laws against CC and pollution (but which SHOULD be in place). Meanwhile, people are in prison RIGHT NOW for merely what they say on their websites. People's homes and water supplies are poisoned by gas fracking - RIGHT NOW - and laws prevent people from rightfully blowing these gas frackers up in self-defense.

1 /2 Obama stop offshore drilling until it was reinstated. This could cause a $5 a gallon increase, because we would grow dependent upon foreign nations we are not allies with in order to provide our oil. Cap and Trade (American Power Act) would increase gas prices increase by $2.58 a gallon according to George C. Marshall Institute& taxes on the average household up to $3200 according to the RNC Foreign countries price gouge w/ gas prices to $10/gal!.

@monkyspnk777 Feel free to be replenished, Don't know about you but I want my gtrand children to life their lives not having to worry about their home being drowned in seawater ( or glacier floods in this case). However to a certain extent I do understand what you're saying.
