  • American houses are basically crap. such thing shouldn't happenbefore 100 years of heave use.

  • When my main floor was sagging I jacked it up from the basement. Then put a new support next to the one that was jacked up. But it's tougher to jack up a floor that has a wall resting on the part that needs jacking. I haven't attempted jacking up a floor with a load bearing wall on it yet.

  • @Cundysharborgirl there is no easy fix

  • He doesn't actually tell you how to resolve the sloping floor, just that it doesn't concern him...... I have a house in the exact same condition, reinforced in the basement, but slanted floors. What is the easiest fix, especially if you want to install new hardwood flooring.
