It was back surgery actually. :)

except that no Chinese gymnast even medaled in the all around. And the US went 1 - 2. It is still just the first year after the Olympics. Hopefully she'll improve for next year.

she is the one to beat at the all-around at worlds this year. now that nastia and shawn are not doing the all-around. nastia could do the all around? not sure.. he bars last month looked great. she didn compete it at US NATIONALS but she practiced it and it was great.. i love ivana bridget and becca but i doubt they could beam jiang yuyuang

She had a ruptured spinal disk at the end of last year that required some surgery and time off.

Oh no! She got injured?! I guessed she was injured, but now I know for sure! That's terrible! Was this an injury from gymnastics or something medical? Oh no! :(

yes, because the FIG has changed the scoring system again. Gymnasts are required to do less combinations, so their starting value as well as the execution will be lower as well. Like we'll never see a starting value of 7.7 on bars or a 7.3 on beam again.
