Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games X-Country Jumps

Eventing Jumps are Wicked Wide and Tall.
Have a look at the jumps the almost 80 pairs of horse and rider were challenged with at the midway point of the 4 mile course. Called the "Land Between the Lake" this combination tested the resolve and the communication of everyone who attempted it. As a crossing guard (keeping onlookers from the gallop lanes while the equestrians negotiated these monstrosities) I had the chance to see every attempt at these jumps.

From this vantage point I filmed what I could. The next day I walked the camera up to the obstacles so you could get a better look at the questions posed by these ultimate challenges. Let me tell you, Eventing is not for sissies nor the feint of heart, riders either.
