    Sorry for the typo. The relevant phrase should read "is from the original DG LP ... " of course.

  • Unfortunately, the very end of this recording was removed during editing for the CD issue. Bob Woolford, who made made the original recording, got the lot, including the important final gasps and quiet peeps from the organ as its air ran out (all part of the score). The Impetus LP issue (IMP28204) has the end.

    The cover illustration, by the way, if from the original DG LP of shortened versions of Paragraphs 2 and 7 of The Great Learning. The first whistle solo is mine, by the way.

  • brilliant post! I preformed this with the Austin New Music Co-op in it's entirety this weekend. I played contrabass in the 3rd paragraph and as a young musician, was an experience I shan't soon forget!
