I was in the boyton beach inlet in 5 or 6 feet water and swam with a young male they are the most easy going animals in the world

I was snorkling where the Weeki Wachi meets the Gulf at Pine Island beach and had 2 adults and a calf swim up out of the channel and start playing with me. 2 foot visability and one swam right up into my mask. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!
Coolest experience of my life.

Ill laugh if that thing bit his hand off.
You don't wake the manatees here. You have to wait and see if they come up to you.

He wasn't feeding it. He was following all of the rules of manatee interaction, which is legal in Crystal River but not other places.
