We announced our presence when we started testing atom bombs. Thats when the aliens started becoming really interested in humans and what we have become capable of inventing. if they really wanted to listen for "aliens" they would be listening to micro frequencies rather than macro frequencies. in other words, you go small enough listen to the tiny wormholes that pop into and out of existence all of the time. this would be the primary method of communication of any civilization with intergalactic travel abilities, as anything sent thru these simultaneously appears at its destination bypassing space time. some russian scientists posit that our DNA creates wormholes...
