@OliversMovies No, "Resurrection" is not essential -- it's kind of terrible, actually. Most of the issues in this story were written by people other than Grant Morrison. It's a mess. But if you want to explore the Morrison run, you should also include "Return of Bruce Wayne" in your list. It resolves a lot of the issues left hanging at the end of RIP, as well as the important Batman-related events in "Final Crisis." Aside from that, "Batman & Robin" fills in the gap of Bruce's absence.
This should be one of the reviews you should redo. It skims the surface, and well... comparing it to the other books in Grant Morrison's run is easier now.
I liked what you said at the beginning about death in comic books. There's nothing worse than someone dying only to see them come back a year later "because they actually faked their own death" when really, the character was just meant to die in the original story.
I liked Damian in this novel, he had some compassion, although it was out of fear, but at least he was nice to Alfred(At least until Tim fucking Drake got jealous and hotheaded and kept beating him up).

Is this part of the Grant Morrison run? I'm about to buy Batman and Son, Black Glove, and R.I.P. should I buy this book along with them?
