I keep coming back on here from time to time, just to check out this clip. For the record, I've only seen one Mandrill CD release, Best Of Mandrill (Polydor), and yes indeed I did buy it (there are probably others available, but I've only personally seen that one). I can't tell you how much I love old school funk/soul/R&B, and this stuff is among the best that genre has to offer, hands down.

Thank you. We have been making music since 1970. We have 17 albums which most you can get online iTunes, or amazon. Being a member of the band since 1972 I agree with you hands down we were the best.

no rap necessary. Mandrill rules. I would skip every concert in Philly for one Mandrill ticket. Watching them walk through he crowd playing Mango Meat remains my favorite concert moment of all time!!!!!!! Who can touch them on stage. NOBODY! F A POP RECORD! LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO KOOL AND THE GANG!

Well you know we did all right. No we didn't compromise our musical integrity for a hit record. Our money was made on stage. We headlined over those bands you talked about, why? because people loved the band and live we were at our best. Concert promoters knew the draw of the band and if you performed with Mandrill in the early 70s it didn't matter how many hit records you had we headline more shows than not.

@neftalisantiago Neftali...i was a rocker in the 70's, and when i heard Mandrill, i heard a lot of rock type riffs, like the solo Omar plays over that Am in Fencewalk, and also in Hang Loose. Another one is the verses in Children of the Sun. You guys were the shit, brother. Love the records then and now...

Did Mandrill ever cross paths with Jimi Hendrix ?! I know they recorded at the Electric Lady in the NYC which was Jimis studio ! 1970 was the year it officially opened .
