Bright eyes, pretty eyes
of my beloved treasure,
telling you that I die is not enough for you,
you even deny me your pity!
You have me flaming with love,
and yet you are so ungrateful
because you always have fun
being cruel to me.
[da capo]
@PrimaRagazza Thanks for sending me the link. And why are you so surprised? At the time of baroque castrato was as we say in Russian "King and God". You want a bass to sing instead of Randall Wong? LOL Actually, he is one of my favourites. Here such a clear and pure sound! Very beautiful! Doesn't matter if it's his natural unbroken voice. I don't care who can use his technique to achieve such high sounds, it's just wonderful without nauseatically sugary PJ's singing a la "innocent" teenager:-)

Wow, every single male character in this opera appears to have been a castrato! And this is beautiful, quite a sad song of unrequited love. Who cld fail to be moved by such angelic singing! Even though i prefer alto counter-tenors on the whole, i think this is lovely.
