Congressman Connie Mack appeared as a guest on FOX News' "Hannity." While there, Congressman Mack and former White House Special Counsel Lanny J. Davis discussed the recent revelation by Congressman Anthony Weiner of New York regarding Weiner's illicit tweets. Congressman Mack stated his belief that Congressman Weiner ultimately must answer to his wife, children, constituents, and conscience regarding whether or not the allegations surrounding him should cause him to resign from Congress, and believes that the press surrounding Weiner's indiscretions is distracting from the true issues facing America. Sean Hannity also brought up a seeming double standard that exists regarding Congressional scandals - in that Republican Congressmen facing ethics charges tend to resign quickly, while Democratic Congressmen facing similar charges tend to fight all calls to resign.
