Szerelem, szerelem/ átkozott gyötrelem
("Love, love/ wretched suffering")
— Hungarian folk song

Internationally acclaimed Canadian theatre company Volcano presents Goodness, by Michael Redhill, winner of the Best of Edinburgh award, and a production that has toured to Edinburgh, New York, across Canada, and through Rwanda.

A man in a bar hands you an address. You find yourself ringing an intercom at an apartment building across the street. A woman's voice answers. Moments later, you're in a darkened room, listening to an astonishing story. War crimes, ethnic cleansing, love, memory, murder — this is a world you thought you could imagine. But you were wrong.

Michael Redhill is the award-winning author of the play Building Jerusalem and the novels Martin Sloane and Consolation. Other works include Light-crossing, a collection of poetry, and Fidelity, a collection of short fiction. He is the publisher and one of the editors of Brick, a literary journal.
