This is my Epson 8350 setup. The screen is a 100" Elite Screens electric screen and the receiver is a Sony STR DH820 with 7.2 surround sound. I am using HDMI all around. It looks odd through the camera when the screen is down, but trust me, it looks MUCH better in person with the screen down. If you get a projector, get a screen! It is totally worth it. The picture is much better.

  • Is there any sagging with that screen? I think at 120"-135" there is probably a greater risk just because of the size of the material. What do you think?

  • @jimcannataro I think they make a 120". There is no sagging, but I hear that you can get waves in the manual pull down screens from pulling down in the center handle. The electric screens are much better because it rolls up evenly and slow enough to not cause damage. If you have the room and money, fixed screens are a great option too, but they are a little more pricey.

  • Cool, it looks very nice and bright. Is the screen a 1.1 gain like most of Elite's screens? I'm thinking I might be able to push the 8350 to 135" but I want to make sure it's bright enough. THX

  • @jimcannataro Yup. It is the Vmax 2 series. It is a 1.1 gain with a 160 degree viewing angle. I has black borders also. It is a nice clean look. Everything should be plenty bright enough. I can't remember the last time I watched something in the dark. I always have some lights on.

  • Is this with the picture on dynamic (highest brightness)?

  • @jimcannataro Yes. I find it best to watch like that because I don't have to worry as much about light sources in the room. I can pretty much have the lights on and still have a nice picture.

Where are you finding your zoom? Mine, is in the menu with the aspect ratio, and everything's greyed out *unselectable) and when I look it up, the manual says when using HDMI, it's fixed and not changable?? Kinda sick at having to throw my 100" screen with 26' of distance!!

  • MEGATRON!! Im buying an 8350 in a couple weeks. Too bad I cant watch any lions playoff football on it. :(
